Dance Archivist is a digital archive of raqs sharqi, dabke, and other dances from our region. Founded in 2021, the archive gathers thousands of videos, photographs, magazines, and posters from the early 1930s through the early 2000s.
It includes widely known dancers as well as forgotten and marginalized performers. The archive centers dance around communal joy, collective memory, and social practices.
